Vintage Wall of Death comes to Race Retro
Ken and his troupe, which includes his two sons, will perform amazing stunts on motorcycles while climbing the walls of the area. Riding side saddle, races and even driving a go-kart around the wall is all part of this amazing show.
The Wall of Death first appeared in the UK in 1929 and throughout the 1930s. By 1950 there were many shows in the country but today there are only two left in the UK and Ken Fox owns both of them, although one is undergoing a major restoration project. There are only a handful of people able to meet the exacting standards required to perform the Wall of Death and Ken is recognised as the World's leading Wall of Death rider.
The Ken Fox Wall of Death was built in 1995 by Ken and his colleagues. It was built in a massive ship yard at New Brighton and was completed in just 20 weeks. After being built up for trials at New Brighton, the Wall made its official travelling debut at the 1995 Rempstone Steam Rally. The Wall itself is 20ft high and 32ft in diametre.
The Wall of Death will be in action at Race Retro with tickets costing £2.50 for adults and £1 for children. The show is open from 9.30am each day and closes at 5.30pm on Friday and Saturday and 4.30pm on Sunday. To book tickets and for the latest updates, visit www.raceretro.com.
