Aaron Barrett has been restoring his 1993 Renault Clio Williams for two years since buying the car and it has become a real family affair. The Clio had been parked up since 2014 with rust setting in so Aaron was going to use it for parts but then decided to bring it back to life.

The restoration was going well until Aaron suffered a serious back injury and the car was untouched for months. A trip to Ireland to watch the Wexford Stages got him motivated again and with the support of his wife, children and his best friend, the car is nearing completion. 

Aaron said: “This car to me now holds a huge sentimental value as it’s helped me on low days with my pain levels. I will continue with the build but I need further back surgery so the chance of competing this year is very slim. The goal is to compete at Wexford as I've spectated there for many years and is a great atmosphere.
