Having always had an affection for classic cars, Adam Kent-Smith was looking for a vehicle that he could put his own stamp on with a ‘retro styled restoration’ so having owned a Morris Minor Pick Up as a young lad, he decided to return to his roots.

This Austin Minor Pick Up was within the last ‘800’ of 326,000 LCVs produced. It was for this reason in 2009 he decided to rescue it although it was a complete basket case. It remained stored for over three years while he gathered a considerable amount of New Old Stock panels and new chassis.

“I had a concept to see this little ‘Ute’ compete with its rivals and perhaps even adorn a racing track or two,” explains Adam. “I wanted to upgrade it using alternative powertrain, transmission, etc but with a vision of keeping this Pick-Up period-looking as if it could have potentially been created the during the 1970s era.”
